So the sun may have (mostly) abandoned us again, but that means it will be more than bearable this weekend at Jack London Square for major foodie grazing at the Eat Real Festival! Starting today and running through Sunday, this is an opportunity to check out some of the best food trucks in the Bay all in one location. Some of my lunchtime favorites from work who will be there include Chairman Bao (a gourmet twist on the traditional chinese stuffed buns with fillings such as duck confit or pork belly with pickled daikon radish) and IZ IT (secret family recipe chinese style fried chicken and "spammers" - a super-tasty take on the traditional Japanese musubi sushi wrap).
In addition to good old grazing - as if we needed more - there will be a handful of seminars & demos throughout the weekend, including butchery contests & workshops, all about eggs, urban homesteading, home brewing & canning and the like, plus music & film.
Worth a BART trip? Aw yeah. Hot tip from friends who have gone to this event in the past is to get there EARLY to beat the crowd. Times & details are here: EatRealFest.com
