The East Bay Regional Parks District is celebrating its 75th Anniversary to make this year's annual Trails Challenge FREE (see details below) and green in partnership with Kaiser Permanente. The program includes a downloadable booklet of 20 trails of varying difficulty levels and lengths with maps, a trail log, trail & hiking FAQs, tips on hiking with kids and dogs, etc.
Trails Challenge is FREE to those who meet the following requirements: * Register online between January 1 and March 31, 2009. * Are residents of Alameda or Contra Costa county. Kaiser employees are free to register for the Trails Challenge if they are residents of any Northern California county. * Pick-up their t-shirts in one of the six Regional Park Visitor Centers. * Download the Trails Challenge guidebook off of the Regional Parks Foundation/Trails Challenge website. You must complete at least 5 trails or 26.2 miles to meet the challenge and turn in your log for a commemorative pin. More information about the program and all necessary links are here.
