**NEW: exhibit & deadline for feedback extended through November 29th.**
In July, a committee including seven Castro Valley residents plus County staff, and regional arts professionals selected six artists through an open, competitive process to submit proposals for thepublic artwork associated with the Castro Valley Boulevard Streetscape Improvement Project. The artists learned about the Castro Valley community and met community members at the Roundtable Event in late August, visited the Boulevard, and conducted their own research. They each made a unique proposal for the project. The Alameda County Arts Commission has made arrangements to display the proposals at two locations in Castro Valley in October and November. At these locations, community members can view illustrations of the proposed artworks, material samples, and written project information about the concepts and designs. Community members will be invited to submit written feedback about the proposals. The comments will be reviewed and strongly considered by the artist selection panel when they reconvene in November.
ARTISTS: Anne Marie Karlsen, Masayuki Nagase, Miriam Stahl, Paul Tzanetopoulos, Warner Williams, and Wowhaus.
Please come by one of the locations and share your thoughts!
