I attempted to turn on my heat for the season yesterday and the boiler was dead. I have an original boiler and when I called two radiant heating companies, they both recommended a new boiler for 7-8K. Apparently, there is a $1500 tax credit if you replace the boiler with a high efficiency one. The credit expires at the end of 2010.My question--has anyone changed boilers in the past year or two and if so, how did it work out as far as reduced bills and speed of heating the house?
