2009 Kids Challenge at East Bay Parks

Eichler Tour in San Mateo Highlands - April 24 & 25

We look right at them on the hill across the Bay from us - now have a chance to look inside some of the Eichlers in the San Mateo Higlands. The annual tour includes 8-12 homes, and benefits the Highlands Elementary School.

We went to this 2 years ago, and ran into a few Greenridge residents there, including the former owners of our home! There were some absolutely amazing homes, and some that were less interesting, but overall we felt it was a worthwhile excursion.

Chicken Pot Pie (recipe)

This is a nice, classic, hearty comfort dish, easy to make - and a wonderful way to use leftover chicken. We'll get a whole rotisserie chicken from Costco, eat half of it and then use the rest for this pot pie. Enjoy!

Getting greener on Greenridge!

Ok, so how often do you get to say you love a service provider - especially the waste management folks? But the Castro Valley Sanitary District really has it together. In addition to just providing great, consistent, considerate service every week (even during the strike a few years ago), they communicate well with postcards & newsletters that include actual relevant info, and handy, aesthetically-pleasing and easy to use… Continue
