You may or may not be familiar with the name, but you've most certainly seen his work in and around San Francisco. Brian Barneclo is a well-regarded local artist who's best known for his distinctive, angular, retro-modern large-scale murals in hotels, restaurants & bars (including NOPA & Rye), and outdoors (such as the massive "Food Chain" mural at 14th & Folsom) - as well as in private homes (if perhaps you're feeling your atrium needs a little something special). Brian has a new gallery show of recent work at District wine bar in SOMA, including some pieces that utilize the underlying wood grain with a neutral colour palette to create paintings that would fit perfectly in an Eichler.
If you can't get down to District (show closes October 22), you can see more of his original paintings as well as prints for sale on his website: http://brianbarneclo.com
And here's a 7x7 magazine feature article on Brian
from last fall.
